René Bogner

got first violin lessons at the age of seven. He grew up in the Middle East and - back to Europe - studied violin with Victor Liberman (1st concertmaster of Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam) and later on with Gerhard Hetzel (1st concertmaster of Wiener Philharmoniker).

Yet during his studies in Vienna he worked as concertmaster of Vienna Chamber Opera. Afterwards he was section leader of second violins at Münster Symphony Orchestra and founding member of a contemporary music chamber ensemble.

Since 1995 he has been leading the first violin section of MDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra in Leipzig. In numerous concerts, radio- and TV-productions as well as CD-recordings he has established as chamber musician with classic violin literature up to contemporary works. He performed as soloist in many concert tours through European houses, in South Africa and the USA.
